David is the developer of the Thinking Maps® model and a recognized international thought leader in the field of improving thinking and learning from Pre-K to College levels, and into the workplace.
He is author of the primary training resources for implementing Thinking Maps as well as co-developer of Thinking Friends, a new early childhood program for teachers and parents. His professional books, such as Visual Tools for Transforming Information into Knowledge (3rd ed.) and Student Successes with Thinking Maps (2nd ed.) have been best sellers for Corwin Press and ASCD. Presently, David is the CEO/owner of Thinking Schools International driving implementation, research, and advocacy for the explicit development of thinking for learning as being the foundation for school transformations. He is also Founding Director of Thinking Foundation, a nonprofit organization offering the Thinking Schools Accreditation Process (TSAP) for schools and systems focused on sustaining change over time. Presently, David is leading the Program Development team for EdJuncture with a focus on integrating advanced thinking processes into everyday learning, teaching, and leadership pathways.
